Gunner's Cove
Gunner’s Cove has a population of approximately 45 people. This community was also a fishing station occupied by the French. Its’ name originated from hunters who hunted seabirds from all over the island by boat. They eventually called it Gunner’s Cove. Due to Gunner’s Cove being the central point of the communities from St. Lunaire to L’anse aux Meadows, a school was built there for students from Kindergarten to Grade Eleven.
